U.K. operators aim to seal 200 North Sea oil and gas wells per year in decommissioning goal

Expro has won a contract valued at over $10 million for the provision of a well decommissioning solution. The solution combines subsea safety systems and surface processing design to enable both safe well entry and effective fluids management.

Mermaid Subsea Services (UK) Ltd has set a new industry benchmark for North Sea decommissioning. Across the course of 2024 the Aberdeen-headquartered company successfully plugged and abandoned (P&A) 30 wells in the UK North Sea using the Island Valiant vessel.
